Monteum Through The Ages
Monteum was established, originally operated from Shoreham Beach
Tock Ayling (pictured) introduced Jim to fishing at the age of 3 years old. From ‘Tocks Hut’ on Shoreham Beach. Tock was a local huffler, market gardener and fisherman.
Pete Huxtable MBE joined forces with Jim creating a dynamic duo and forming the backbone of Monteum that remains to this day.
Just after we build the jetty, the crab vivier barge alongside. We were loading a french lorry with crabs and lobsters. Lorry from Frui Mer, Britany France.
Monteum moved to Fisherman’s Wharf. The caravan was the office
